Basalt
Getting started

First run

Create the owner account and get oriented in the panel.

With the stack running, open your panel URL. On a fresh database Basalt has no users yet, so the first thing it asks for is an owner account.

Create the owner

There are two ways to bootstrap the owner:

Visit the panel in your browser. On first visit you'll see the owner-creation form: pick an e-mail and password and you're in. The form disappears once the database is bootstrapped.

The owner has every permission and cannot be locked out by role changes. Use it to set up the platform, then create day-to-day accounts with narrower permissions.

A quick tour

After signing in you'll land on the dashboard. The sidebar gives you:

  • Instances: your game servers. Empty for now.
  • Nodes: machines that can run instances. Also empty until you connect one.
  • Backups: archives across all instances.
  • Users: accounts, roles and invites.
  • Settings: platform settings, roles and template registration.

Press ⌘K (or Ctrl K) anywhere to open the command palette and jump straight to any instance, node or page.
