File browser & editor
Browse, edit and upload instance files with template-defined guardrails.
The Files tab gives you direct access to an instance's files inside its container, with guardrails, because a mistyped delete in the wrong folder can end a world.
Browsing
The file browser is scoped by the instance's template:
- Root folder: you browse the game's data directory, not the whole container filesystem.
- Hidden paths: internals the template author chose to keep out of sight don't show up at all.
- Read-only paths: critical files and folders can be opened but not modified or deleted.
Everything else supports the operations you'd expect: create, rename, move, delete, upload and download.
Editing
Text files open in a built-in editor with syntax highlighting, handy for server.properties,
YAML configs, scripts and the occasional JSON file. Saving writes straight back to the container
through the daemon.
Live servers read configs at boot
Most game servers only read configuration at startup. After editing a config, restart the instance for changes to take effect.
Uploads
Drag and drop files to upload: mod jars, plugin folders, world imports. The maximum upload size
is controlled by the backend's UPLOAD_MAX_BYTES (2 GiB by default).
Permissions
File access is permission-gated per instance, separately from the console, so you can give a builder file access without console commands, or the reverse.
